Dr. Preminger is an Ivy League educated, Board Certified female plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast, and body.

Dr. Preminger trained at some of the country’s finest institutions including New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center, Columbia University, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Manhattan Eye and Ear Infirmary, Lenox Hill Hospital, and the Hospital For Special Surgery. She also studied art at the Art Students League. In addition to achieving top honors in some of the most distinguished Ivy League schools in the country, Dr. Preminger has a history of active leadership in many professional organizations.

Dr. Preminger has expertise in a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures and has lectured and published extensively. She and her staff are committed to excellence.

Education

Harvard University

Dr. Preminger graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University. During her time there, she served as President of the Harvard Chapter of Operation Smile, an organization that provides free surgeries to repair facial deformities for children around the world. She also wrote an honors thesis about plastic surgery.

Cornell University Medical College

Dr. Preminger received her Medical Doctorate degree from Cornell University Medical College, graduating in the top of her class. She was also elected President of the Cornell Chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical student honor society.

Columbia University

Dr. Preminger then completed her surgical training at the prestigious New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell/Columbia where she had the opportunity to train under some of the most renowned cosmetic and reconstructive surgeons in New York City. She earned a Masters Degree in Public Health from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. She also completed a Clinical Research Fellowship in Breast Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

Cornell University Medical

Dr. Preminger held an adjunct faculty position at Cornell University Medical College and was actively involved in teaching medical students about medical professionalism and medical ethics.

She won the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation’s Arts and Science Essay Contest for her essay on professionalism and plastic surgery and has also published about ethical issues in plastic surgery. Dr. Preminger maintains privileges at several prominent New York hospitals including Lenox Hill, Manhattan Eye and Ear Infirmary, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and St. Luke’s- Roosevelt.

American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS)

Dr. Preminger is active in several plastic surgery societies and served on the Board of the New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons and the New York State Society of Plastic Surgeons. She is also a member of American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. In 2015, she became a member of the medical advisory board of Sharsheret, a national non-profit organization benefiting young Jewish women with breast cancer.

New York State Society of Plastic SurgeonsDr. Preminger is also actively involved in teaching plastic surgery residents and fellows. She possesses a unique interest in professionalism and ethics in plastic surgery.

The Aesthetic Society

A native New Yorker, wife, and mother of three children including twins, Dr. Preminger enjoys spending time with her family when not in the office. She is also an avid swimmer. Dr. Preminger prides herself on warmth, honesty, compassion, and patience. She focuses on the individual patient and cares to tailor the patient encounter to each patient’s unique needs. As a female surgeon and mother, she is particularly sensitive to the needs of women and young mothers who want to look their best.
