Lower Body Lift
Does your ideal lower body seem overwhelming or simply unattainable? What if you had a little help?
Dr. Aviva B. Preminger can correct several common low body trouble spots in a single surgery.
Lower Body Lift
Lower body lift surgery is an increasingly popular body contouring option for people who cannot achieve their aesthetic goals through diet and exercise alone. The number of Brazilian butt lifts performed in the United States has grown by an astounding 58 percent from 2013 to 2014, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Surgeons believe the trend can be attributed to the desire for a shapelier figure, embodied by celebrities like Kim Kardashian or Jennifer Lopez.
A lower body lift targets the following areas:
- Buttocks – Improves the size, shape, slope, evenness, and positioning
- Abdomen – Strengthens and flattens the muscles
- Thighs – Tones sagging portions and reduces circumference
Pregnancy, aging, weight fluctuations, and genetics can all take their toll on the body over time. The ideal candidate for lower body lift surgery is someone who has undergone dramatic weight loss, but needs a little extra help firming and shaping up the lower body. Weight should have hit a plateau and remained stable for about a year. Plastic Surgeon Dr. B. Aviva Preminger can also enhance the results of your lower body lift surgery by removing excess fat with liposuction and surgically reducing loose, excess skin for a truly artistic result.
Recovery & results of lower body lift
Dr. B. Aviva Preminger recommends taking two to three weeks for recovery, although it is possible to return to (light duty) work in as little as 10 days.
Small drain tubes must be emptied daily for about a week, at which point the surgeon will remove them. All sutures will dissolve on their own. Patients are sent home with compression bands and written instructions on post-operative care. Walking right away is a good idea to prevent blood clots. Light elliptical or treadmill walking can be resumed after 10 days, with moderate activity allowed at three weeks and strenuous exercise at six weeks.
Recovery rates are variable and based on the individual’s ability to heal, but generally, most swelling and discoloration should subside after a month or two. It could take up to six months for all swelling to fully dissipate. Call your doctor if you experience unwanted symptoms like heavy bleeding or persistent pain.
Lower body lift results are evident immediately, but the final shape and feel is achieved in roughly three months. You’ll notice that you look healthier and toned. You can expect to feel lighter and more agile as well. The results are generally permanent, though they can be affected by pregnancy or large weight gain. Adherence to a healthy diet and exercise regimen ensures the longevity of your results.
