Brazilian Butt Lift
There are several methods of buttocks augmentation in popular practice. Today, many women are looking into Brazilian Butt Lift surgery.
Stop wondering about a Brazilian butt lift. Dr, Preminger tells you everything you need to know about this popular trend in plastic surgery.
Brazilian Butt Lift
If you have always wanted a voluptuous backside, a Brazilian butt lift may just be the body contouring solution. For some individuals, no amount of targeted exercise can deliver the shapely and firm buttocks admired on celebrities like Jennifer Lopez. Buttock augmentation with a combination of fat grafting and liposuction can increase the size, contour and overall look of the butt, transforming an otherwise flat derriere into a rounder, more attractive bottom. Enhancement can be achieved through a series of injections of your own excess body fat or with buttock implants.
Centrally located in New York City, Dr. Preminger offers buttock augmentation and the Brazilian butt lift using the latest techniques that are customized for each patient. Men and women request butt lifts for a variety of reasons, from drastic weight loss to simple genetics. A precise fat transfer to buttocks can lift and add volume, accentuate feminine curves, and elevate the butt into a more youthful position. Healthy individuals with deflated looking buttocks are generally excellent candidates for a Brazilian butt lift.
Preparing for Brazilian Butt Lift
During your initial consultation, Dr. Preminger will first assess how much fat is needed for your butt enhancement to determine if liposuction and fat transfer is a viable option. Unlike silicone buttock implants, a Brazilian butt lift uses an autologous fat transfer from your own body, which ensures quicker recovery and less chance of complications. In instances where patients have small amounts of body fat to harvest, Dr. Preminger may suggest implants rather than a butt lift.
Before your procedure, it’s important to disclose what types of medications, natural supplements and vitamins you’re currently taking and review your entire medical history.
Dr. Preminger will discuss all surgical risks and make the following suggestions to help reduce risk of complications:
- Refrain from alcoholic beverages for two weeks prior to the procedure
- Stop taking all NSAIDS, Aspirin and Vitamin E, which may act as blood thinners
- Quit smoking for at least two weeks before and after the surgery
- Stay hydrated before the procedure to help speed up recovery
Recovery after buttock augmentation
Immediately following the procedure, patients should expect some swelling, bruising and pain – the latter of which can be treated with over-the-counter medication. Some temporary loss of sensation in the buttock area is completely normal, and will subside in the coming days and weeks. A compression garment should be worn for at least 14 to 21 days to reduce swelling. Any edema should resolve over the next four to six weeks, revealing your final result. It’s important to avoid sitting or applying pressure directly on the buttocks for at least two weeks post-surgery.
Following a Brazilian butt lift, most patients will be ready to return to work within one week and resume light physical activity in two to three weeks. Very strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least one month, unless otherwise indicated by Dr. Preminger.
The doctor will continue to monitor your progress and healing during post-operative visits, and will offer advice to help maintain your results.
