You’ve already made up your mind that you want to have a nose job. Now you just have to plan out what to do to ensure you have a smooth recovery. Preminger Plastic Surgery is here for you. We understand that part of attaining amazing results after a rhinoplasty is to have a stress-free recovery. That’s why Dr. B. Aviva Preminger wants to provide you with a comprehensive post-rhinoplasty checklist.

Stock Up on Groceries

You may not feel like venturing out of the house for a few days after your surgery, and you probably will want to stick to soft foods at first. So, we recommend stocking up on yogurt, soup, or fresh fruits and veggies for smoothies. Eggs are also an easy-to-chew food that will provide some needed protein following your procedure. We also suggest having ginger ale, saltines, or vanilla wafers on hand in case you feel nauseous after your rhinoplasty in Manhattan. If you’re the cook in your household, consider purchasing some precooked or frozen options for your convenience during the first week following surgery.

Get a Sitter

During the first couple of days after rhinoplasty, we recommend finding someone to care for your dog, help with your children, or make family meals. After the first week of recovery, you can resume light activity like walking your dog and taking your kids to school. It’s a good idea to have a conversation with your family about what to expect during your recovery. You may want to delegate chores to able-bodied family members.

Clean the House

You can expect you’ll have to take it easy for about a week. So, if you don’t like to sit around in a messy house, it’s a good idea to clean your home before your surgery. This doesn’t have to be a heavy, intensive “deep clean,” but we find a stress-free recovery begins when you don’t have to worry about cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming, or putting away dishes.

Refill Your Medicine Cabinet

It is a great idea to stock up on basic first-aid kit equipment like gauze, bandages, dressings, supplements, over-the-counter pain relievers, or other supplements that Dr. Preminger recommends. Be sure also to have some ice packs on hand that you can use in the days following your surgery to help reduce swelling.

Find A Source of Entertainment

Recovering from your rhinoplasty doesn’t have to be boring. Take a little bit of time and make yourself a Netflix or Hulu playlist. You can go grab those books or magazines that you bought but never had time to read. These non-strenuous activities are a good way to pass the time.
