While bigger breasts and sculpted bodies remain the two most common requests of plastic surgeons, medical advancements and cultural shifts have propelled other lesser-known procedures to the top of the list. Butt augmentation, labiaplasty and facial rejuvenation through fat injections are now more popular than ever, thanks in part to social media personalities like Kim Kardashian.

Several surgeons spoke to TIME last week about the hottest plastic surgery trends, and why women are more than willing to go under the knife. One thing remains clear: America’s growing obsession with cosmetic surgery. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASPS), the number of plastic surgery procedures in the U.S. has increased six-fold since 1997. And with new fat-melting drugs like Kybella (for eliminating a double chin) getting approval, patients have more options than ever to look as young, slim and vibrant as they feel.

NYC plastic surgery trends

  1. Butt lifts: Enhancing the size, shape and profile of your derriere through buttock augmentation or a Brazilian butt lift using your own fatty tissue is more popular than ever. Statistically speaking, this procedure witnessed the biggest spike in 2014, with an 86 percent increase over 2013. Many young women may only be trying to emulate the Kardashians’ physical claim to fame, however, which is why ASPS President Dr. Michael Edwards predicts butt lift surgery may only be a “blip” in the radar rather than a lasting trend.
  2. Smaller labia: This intimate procedure, which reduces the size of the inner labia, has also gained traction among women who may be just learning of its availability. Whether caused by childbirth or genetics, large or protruding labia can be a source of discomfort and embarrassment for some ladies, especially when wearing a swimsuit or tight fitting apparel. Last year labiaplasty procedures increased by 49 percent and the procedure enjoys a high satisfaction rate.
  3. Fat injections for smoother skin: While laser lipo is used for removing unwanted fat, surgeons are realizing the revitalizing effects of fat grafts to the face. This can help boost volume naturally, without the need for synthetic dermal fillers. Doctors have learned that fat grafts (using cells harvested from the stomach, thighs or back area during lipo) reorganize elastic fibers beneath the skin, giving a more youthful appearance. This procedure may work wonders for women in their 40s and 50s who have begun to lose volume around the cheeks or have under-eye hollows. While the stunning results can last for years, fat grafts are not permanent.
