Studies Find Buttock Augmentation & Vaginal Rejuvenation Safe and Effective

Important long-awaited research findings were reported in the March issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery regarding two of plastic surgery’s fastest growing procedures—gluteoplasty, more commonly known as butt augmentation, and labiaplasty, or vaginal rejuvenation.

The results, published in the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, focused on studies involving the safety and effectiveness of these two popular procedures.

Buttock augmentation & labiabplasty safe and effective

The first study on butt augmentation outcomes was conducted by a team of Brazilian researchers who examined a group of women who recently had gluteoplasties. The study confirmed that, other than a short term loss of gluteal muscles, the surgeries resulted in “improved body shape, with a curvier, more gynoid (female) contour.” The augmentation procedures met the goal of “providing a more shapely figure, with relatively minor, potentially reversible muscle atrophy.”

The second study led by an Albany, New York ASPS member surgeon and his research team analyzed the outcomes of labiaplasties on 1,950 women who had the procedures for either cosmetic or clinical reasons.
